Andaman Beach Resort is a
chalet-style bungalow operation built right next to the beach.
It's located on the north part of Andaman Beach next to Bo Daeng. You like a colorful resort? The word "pastel" comes to
mind when looking at these huts. |

They've got 17 bungalows in essentially two different
styles. Each has its own terrace/patio and a private bathroom
with shower and European-style toilet. The rooms are nicely
furnished and have fans.
Electricity is by generator and only from
dusk until dawn.. |

ABB has a nice restaurant with good food (just like
everybody else on Koh Jum) and offer a good choice of
Thai and international dishes, especially seafood.
They have a tour center and book fishing trips and
full-day excursions to Yung and Mai Pai (Bamboo)
Island, which is over next to Phi Phi Island. |

They
got lucky when the tsunami hit. I only saw one hut damaged,
but I'm guessing there was more. I think they also lost their
boat. When I was there in January, 2005 they had cleaned up
the mess in the resort and were working on cleaning up the
beach. By the start of the 2006 season there was no visible
damage anywhere at Andaman Beach Resort. |

I've
never stayed here, but the Thai people I met when I was taking
these pictures were very friendly and helpful. I got to meet
numerous people who really liked this resort when they
stayed here, which would explain why it's always busy and
near-full. The huts are large and very comfortable.
This has the look and feel of a family-friendly,
family-oriented place. |
